"Spring, Spring Hey Ho for Spring"

These delightful spring maidens I made last year
I so love them that I thought I would share them with you
The photos were taken outside under an old apple tree
Amongst the spring bulbs, in my garden.

Treasure boxes

What does your child do with their treasures

The special cards they receive from loved ones

The special drawings ,that took so long to create

The extra special leaf or stone they have collected from Mother Nature
The little magical gift given with love from a friend.
They put it in their very own treasure box

Here are two special boxes that I made for treasures

Thumbelina and the sparkling water

Thumbelina awoke from her little cradle
Which was made from half a walnut shell
Its soft mattress of flower petals and the rose leaf coverlet
had kept her snug and warm.
She decide to amuse herself by going down to the river
There she climbed aboard a waterlily
and sailed across the sparkling water
Her friends the birds watched her and said
"What a lovely little maiden she is, as beautiful as a rose in summer"

She looks lovely displayed on a blue silk cloth to simulate water

Beautiful birds

Years ago we planted hundreds of trees on our small homestead
The sound of birds singing is such a delight
I have created some rainbow birds
And for winter time some snow birds
They all could be doves of peace and light
One might land on a child's windowsill, as a special morning surprise
A child can fly one around their garden,or in the park
They might land it in a tree, or even find an empty nest for it to sit in

Or make one of their own on the ground out of twigs and greenery.

Busy in the garden

It was a warm day
The golden rays of Sister Sun shone down on Mother Earth
The Softearth lady put on her hat
She collected her spade from the garden shed
And went out into the cabbage patch
She loved being outside in the fresh air
And growing vegetables for her family to eat
The rhythm of the seasons were a joy to her
She always thanked Mother Earth,Sister Sun and Father Moon
For their help in providing such a bountiful harvest

The babe who became king

Long ago, in a time of marvels and magic
There lived a king called Uther Pendragon.
Merlin,Uther's wise and magical counselor
Told him that people were coming to harm his new born son Arthur
So one day Merlin took the babe in his arms and carried him away
To a castle deep within the dark forest
There,he gave the boy into the care
Of a brave and faithful knight named Sir Ector


This is my picture of Merlin and the babe going through the woods to safety

Whispers in the garden

One morning I went out into my garden
I was looking at the last of the colorful poppy flowers
Their petals had fallen to Mother Earth
I heard someone whispering
There much to my amazement
Hidden amongst the poppy flower heads
Stood a little poppy child
She did look beautiful
All dressed in Grey, with a little cap on her head
Every morning I would go out into my garden and talk to her
She told me many wonderful things about what was happening in my garden
I listened well to her expert knowledge

Gathering in

It is early Autumn here in New Zealand
It is a time of gathering in
Gathering in all the memories from the year that has been
Letting those golden Autumn leaves fall on to you
So you can hold them close to your heart
So you can take all the positive things that have happened to you
and the ones that where not so good
You can take those memories and like the storing of the Autumn harvest
You bring them into your soul
Then come Winter time you can think about things that helped you and things that you need to do or to change so that come spring you will know what new seeds to plant in your garden.

Orange lantern Princess

One morning the princess put on her orange dress
She brushed her long golden hair
And went out into the garden
She wanted to walk to the next village to visit her freind
But it was was getting dark and shades of dusk were falling
She noticed orange flower lanterns growing
She picked one and held it tight
Its beautiful orange glow would light her way
And guide her to her friends home.
