A long time ago a little baby was born
We are all born into the world
This little babe had a destiny to fulfill
We all have our own destiny to fulfill
He was special, in that he helped us love and he gave us light
A time came when he passed
We remember all our loved ones who have passed
Out of our sadness we remember with joy

Acorn boy

The day was fine and sunny
While walking in the forest
I heard something
A sort of fluttering in the air
I thought it was the leaves swaying in the breeze
I spun around
And would you believe it
There sitting on an oak tree branch
Was a little acorn boy
All his clothes were green
In his hands he was holding a beautiful acorn
He smiled at me and I smiled back

Earth Element

We stand on Mother Earth
We stand on solid ground
Underneath our feet is a living breathing world
Running rich in pure elements
Running rich in minerals
Energies that come from its warm core
Radiating upward
To warm our lives
To help us stand firm

Moon beams and star light

Every Morning before six o'clock I get up and walk with my neighbor
The night sky is still above me
The sun has not yet risen
Starlight falls down on to me
Moonlight and moonbeams fall on to me
They light my way
I sometimes ask the Starlight and moonbeams to light other peoples way
Sometimes people need a bit of light in their world
Sometimes they need a little bit of light to help light their way so they can see clearer
Sometimes there way can get a bit cloudy with the day to day trails of living
May Starlight and moonbeams fall softly on to you to light your way this day

Walking in the bush

The area where I live used to be covered in immense Totara forests
Totara are one of the majestic forest canopy trees, that can reach up to 30 meters in height.
We went for a walk through a native bush reserve near my home and loved looking at the trees and hearing the sounds of the native Tui,Bell and Fantail birds
Oh, how do love the bush.

Awake,awake little green shoot child
Awake to greet the Spring
You have been deep asleep within Mother Earth
You have been gathering all the minerals and energies needed for new growth
Push up,break through Mother Earths solid mantel
Now it is time to greet the Spring
Breathe in the fresh, clean air
Sway in her gentle breezes
Taste the light Spring rain
Feel the warmth of the Spring sun on your face
Awake, awake little green shoot child

Sailing into the future

Today I have been married for 32 years
I awoke and kissed my husband
We smiled at each other
We are comfortable together
No words really need to be spoken
We are in love
We are sailing into the future
We are sailing on clear,calm seas
We are confident in meeting together what is coming towards us

Rocking away

I went to a local fair on the weekend and spotted these little wooden rocking chairs
They had been made out of wooden clothes pegs
I thought I would make some ladies to sit and rock and chat in them

Early Autumn

It is early Autumn here in New Zealand
The trees are beginning to turn gold
The leaves are just starting to fall
There is still a lot of late summer green about
It is a time to think about the year that was
To gather in and harvest all the positive activities that have happened in your life
Memories of the year are like the golden Autumn leaves falling
You hold them in your arms and take them inward, in preparation for winter reflection.

Fire element

I was thinking about the "fire element" and how it relates to me
This watercolor picture I painted using the wet-on-wet technique
It is a bit like a flame in that I am warm,passionate and creative on the outside
But very calm on the inside.
How very important it is for me to be calm on the inside
At peace with myself and the world

The call of the owl

A few evenings ago
Just as the light was fading
I heard the sound of our little New Zealand native owl
The Ruru (morepork)
Its call was weaving its way to me through the still night
Bringing me knowledge and wisdom
