Mother Earth and her babies

Deep underground Mother Earth leaned on her broom and gazed down at the sleeping babies
She was pleased that they would sleep through the harsh winter days
Which were fill of blizzards and snow storms.
She would wake them when the first warm rays of spring sunlight touched the surface above her
How happy they would be, to go up into the spring meadow and smell the fresh spring air

Cheers Marie

  4. Dear Marie,

It is very special to visit your blog and see what you have been creating. You are perpetuating a beautiful seasonal mythology which reminds us that life continues deep underground despite the drabness above ground, and that spring will come round again. I live in a cold, gray climate, and this year, after a snow storm in February, I was more sensitive to a sort of stirring and waking of life underground...I think it was because of your gnomes guarding the seeds tableau. I kept revisiting it and it spoke to me in a profound way. Your art is very special. love, Beth

  6. Dear Beth, One of my dearest wishes is to warm peoples hearts and ignite in them a stirring of their spirits, life is not always about what you can see, but it is also about what is in the air that we breathe, and what is in the Earth that we walk on every day, Love and light Marie

  11. Oooohh... This is so GORGEOUS!!! I have recently taught myself how to needle felt (via youtube!) and am finding it quite addictive... I'll have to get a lot of practice under my belt in order to do pieces as lovely as this though :)

  20. Our daughter will not put her bamboo sheet from Mother Earth and Baby down. She wraps herself up in it, puts it on her head to make "long hair", pretends it's a baby, and naps with it. It is so soft and silky. http://www.myvisitingcard.com/2011/lil-wayne-tape-allegations-fly-after-rihanna-j-cole-report-denied.html
