New Zealand Tui

John Gerrard Keulemans was a young Dutch artist
He illustrated "Buller's Birds of New Zealand"
In the 1880's. I used his painting as a guide
To make my wool Tui
A New Zealand native bird that visits my garden.

It is for SALE Here

New Zealand Flax flowers

I have lots of New Zealand, flax's in my garden, the native Tui bird is a fan of taking the nectar from the flowering flax plant.
They are a joy to watch...

I bought these dyed flax flowers at a market, and thought they would make a lovely wreath

I must have a go at making some flax flowers...

Cheers Marie.
