New Zealand Kowhai flowers

The kōwhai is one of the best known native trees in New Zealand and it’s our unofficial national flower.
They are best known for their brilliant yellow flowers that appear in profusion in Spring and stand out among the forest greenery. We love to have kōwhai in our gardens. Kōwhai imagery is popular in art works and has been used on postage stamps and coins.
There is a tree not far from me in flower, so I bought some home and painted some Kowhai fairies, cheers Marie.

Sweet pea fairies

I made these sweet pea fairies last year.
My sweet pea plants this year are almost ready to flower
I wonder what colors they will be to inspire me

The view from my window

This is the view from the window where I sit and create
Being Spring in New Zealand now,  the blossom is everywhere
I love it when the wind blows softly and the petals fall on the fresh green grass
Blossom fairies are ever so busy flying around
Some even flew in through the window to say hello
