Fifty years ago when I was seven I watched my Mother mix up ingredients in this bowl
I would stand in the kitchen and watch her bake
And here am I, mixing up ingredients in the same bowl
My dear Mother will be 90 next month, and I always get a lovely feeling when using her bowl
Memories sure are precious
Love and light Marie.
My Mom says she always uses her Mom's rolling pin if she wants the rolls to be extra good! So lovely to have such memories! & I have my Gramma's potato masher. Sounds funny. We used to have Sunday dinners at her house- always with mash potatoes of course. So I think of her every time I use it.

So very special Marie. Your bowl looks a wonderful size for baking - I can easily imagine it passing from generation to generation - well used and loved. :)

ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely bowl and a beautiful memory
ReplyDeleteMemories are so wonderful, especially in objects you often use... A bowl, a pincushion of even a teaspoon...
My house is full of those things: they keep special people and special memories close to me...
Greetings
Nancy

That's a very special thing to have. I don't have my mother's mixing bowl, but when we moved to this new place, I found an old, enamel mixing bowl belonging to the old lady who lived here. I always wonder at the history that it has seen.xx
ReplyDeleteSuch a blessing to have these special things to remind us.
ReplyDeletewhat a lovely sentimental post. Things handed down by loved ones have such an amazing energy, wishing you happy memories every time you use your special mixing bowl:)
ReplyDeleteYou are so lucky to have those treasures being passed down, I wish I had more things from my childhood but we moved so many times from country to country that only the necessities were taken. I would love to feel so connected to my most loved women.
